As everyone knows – I’ve been working really hard on getting my genealogy files in order lately. I’ve already spent countless hours pouring over my notes and scanning my family treasures. Yesterday I ran across a bit of family history that tugged at my heartstrings a little bit and I thought I’d share it with you this morning.
As I was pulling out various photos and documents to be scanned – I ran across my Uncle Reeves’ funeral card. It struck me that there wasn’t a personal handwritten note to be found in the card – only Uncle Reeves’ name inserted in the proper place to tell the recipient who’s funeral the card had come from. I’m not sure why this struck me, but it did… and only added to the sadness I feel when I think of my sweet Uncle who left this world too soon.
